Christmas is looking to be more wet than white this year.
The Carson City region is expected to get more rain and a few snow showers this week after a storm system walloped the region over the weekend.
"The worst is actually over," said Jessica Kielhorn, a meteorologist technician with the National Weather Service in Reno. "But we're going to be in unsettled weather through Wednesday evening."
There's a slight chance for snow showers today after 10 a.m. today and rain after 4 p.m. Highs will be in the low 40s with a low in the mid-20s tonight. On Wednesday there's a chance of rain and snow above 5,100 feet.
On Christmas Day, which is Saturday, there's a chance of rain with a high of 43 expected.
In the Sierra above 7,100 feet another one to two feet of snow could fall though Wednesday and another six to 12 inches in the Lake Tahoe basin.
After that, "it should be fairly nice," Kielhorn said.
