Mansion caretaker says goodbye after long service

I am happy to get this message out to all of you via our hometown paper, the Nevada Appeal. I am receiving so much public support, such an outpouring of love, the names of whom are too numerous to mention.

I have loved every moment at the Governor's Mansion. I have had an unbelievable support system.

Roger Hughes at the Corrections Facility, choosing trusties to work at the Mansion all these years. The Buildings and Grounds Division, how easy you made life for me, promptly answering every call for assistance, cheerful always, such a busy group of worker bees! Capitol police who watch over the Mansion and other areas as if it was their very own.

I have really been blessed with my governors and first ladies - Gov. Bob Miller and first lady Sandy and their dear children, Ross, Corrine and my Meagan; dear Kenny Guinn; Gov. Jim Gibbons and Dawn Gibbons - they all were a privilege to take care of.

I can't vacate this position without mentioning my very competent staff, Sherri, Rachel and Marie, who took care of me. You were a joy to work with!

I view my leaving as if I took a train ride. My fellow passengers were great, the train stopped and I got off. It was a truly wonderful ride.

Helen Wiemer

Former coordinator,

Nevada Governor's Mansion
