MINDEN (AP) - A former Dairy Queen manager has pleaded guilty to embezzling $27,828 from the Minden restaurant.

The Record-Courier of Gardnerville reports that 42-year-old Carl Franklin Wilson Jr. awaits sentencing Feb. 15 after entering the plea Tuesday in Douglas County District Court.

Wilson told District Judge David Gamble that he stole the money from August through October of this year to pay bills and make purchases.

His lawyer, Tod Young, says there was no indication that drugs or gambling were involved.

Wilson faces from probation to five years in prison at his sentencing. He has agreed to pay $27,828 in restitution.

Wilson was released on his own recognizance after his Nov. 23 arrest.
