HEALTH INSPECTIONS

Carson City Health Department's food-service inspections for Jan. 25-Feb. 1 (all scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

• Carson City Nugget Le Nougat Restaurant, 507 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Carson City Nugget Coffee Shop, 507 N. Carson St., scored 91 points. Cooked ham was found in the refrigerated drawer under the stove at 50 F and not at 40 F or less. The chlorine residual found on the dishware after the mechanical final rinse was less than 50 ppm.

• Carson City Nugget Snack Bar, 507 N. Carson St., scored 98 points. Various potentially hazardous foods (tuna salad, egg salad, lunch meats) were found held cold in the prep table refrigerator between 41-45 F and not at 40 F or less. These foods were discarded on the spot.

• Carson City Nugget Coffee Shop, 507 N. Carson St., followup, scored 100 points.

• Schat's Bakery, 1212 S. Stewart St., scored 96 points. Chlorine residual of less than 50 ppm is detected on dishware after mechanical final rinse. Corrected at time of inspection.

• Schat's Bakery Restaurant, 1212 S. Stewart St., scored 95 points. During display or service, turkey is not kept at an internal cold holding temperature of 40 F or below, or at an internal hot holding temperature of 140 F or above. No HACCP in place to hold turkey out of temperature.

• ARCO AM/PM Convenience Store, 1017 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Glen Eagles Bar/Lounge, 3700 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• The Basil Restaurant, 311 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Galaxy Fandango 10 Restaurant, 4000 S. Carson St., scored 96 points. Popcorn machines are missing the front shield to prevent popcorn from falling on the floor. At least one employee of this establishment must be a certified food handler in the snack section of the theater.

• Casino Fandango Butcher Shop, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Casino Fandango Duke's Steak House Bar, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Casino Fandango Duke's Steak House Restaurant, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 97 points. A supply of hand soap is absent from two hand sinks in this department. The kitchen hand sink near the dishwashing area was blocked with a towel receptacle (repeat.)

• Casino Fandango Rum Jungle Buffet, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Casino Fandango Main Kitchen, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 98 points. Containers holding ice scoops at the main ice machine in the drink station hall area need cleaning to remove biofilm buildup. Scoops and containers must be cleaned daily. Replace damaged metal ice scoop (on order). Increase the cleaning schedule on this ice machine, pay attention to the inside roof/ice chute area. Also, check for cleanliness of all can opener blades in all areas of the main kitchen. Found metal shavings and old food buildup on two can opener blades in the main kitchen area.

• Casino Fandango Palm Court Grill, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Casino Fandango Bakery, 3800 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Courtyard by Marriott Restaurant, 3870 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

• Starbucks Coffee #13204, 1410 E. William St., scored 100 points.

• Subway #28790, 2073 Hwy. 50 East, scored 98 points. The knife storage container needs cleaning. The floor sink inside the cabinet under the soda dispenser is very dirty.

• Carson City's Public Safety Complex Inmate Kitchen, 885 E. Musser St., scored 99 points. Food from approved source is not labeled as required.

• Jack in the Box #7302, 309 E. William St., scored 98 points. Food contact surfaces of equipment or utensils are not clean. Found food debris in the containers holding clean utensils located above the prep table at the 1-C sink.

• Bistro @ Bryan Restaurant, 901 S. Stewart St., scored 95 points. Readily perishable cold food is held above 46 F. The cram is on the counter at an internal temperature of 72. The whipped butter is not refrigerated at all.

• Adele's Restaurant, 1112 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.
