Rogue Ales, which brews more than 30 beers, is no longer being distributed in the Carson City region, at least temporarily.

Sierra Wine and Spirits Inc., a Reno-based beer distributor and formally the sole carrier of Rogue Ales in the area, confirmed Tuesday it is no longer buying the beer maker's collection of brews.

A company representative declined to comment further.

Brett Joyce, president Rogue Ales, said the company "has been in Northern Nevada for three decades and will continue to be that way."

While the company is interviewing for a new distributor, Joyce said he had no further comment on the matter.

Kelly Allen, the wine buyer at Ben's Fine Wine and Spirits in Carson City, said their best seller from the brewer is Dead Guy Ale.

"I assume another distributor will pick it up and carry it," Allen said.

Rogue Ales, which is based in Newport, Ore., ranked No. 36 in overall beer sales among U.S. breweries in 2008, according to the Brewers Association in Boulder, Colo.
