LAS VEGAS (AP) - NV Energy says it has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement for energy that will be produced by a new geothermal power plant being developed in central Nevada.
The deal is with a subsidiary of Reno-based Ram Power Corporation and is subject to approval by the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.
The 32-megawatt Clayton Valley Geothermal Project is expected to generate electricity by 2014. It is being developed on a geo-
thermal lease that Ram Power got from the Bureau of Land Management in Esmeralda County, which is between Reno and Las Vegas.
The project will be developed and operated by Clayton Valley 1 LLC.
Terms of the agreement announced Wednesday weren't released.
