Daniel J. Sammons, 88, died at home in Carson City Feb. 10, 2010. He was born Feb. 13, 1921, in Illinois to Daniel and Mary Sammons. He was preceded in death by his sisters Rita Fay and Lorraine Plate. Among his survivors are his wife Laurel; son Randy Sammons and wife Karen; daughters Brooke Nielsen and husband David and Dana Bilyeu and husband Lindsay; and five grandchildren. A family memorial will be held at a later date. Capitol City Cremation & Burial is in charge of arrangements.
