A Carson City woman is being sought by Douglas County investigators after she allegedly failed to turn herself in on an embezzlement warrant, a Douglas County official said Friday.
Sandra Hunter, 60, is wanted in connection with the embezzlement of nearly $100,000 from a Minden property management company where she worked.
According to Douglas Sheriff Sgt. Jim Halsey, between April 2008 and December 2009, Hunter, in her position with the company, collected cash rent on a number of properties, then pocketed the money for herself.
The scheme came to light when company officials noticed their bank balance was small.
Hunter never returned to work after being questioned by her employer, and despite agreeing to surrender on the warrant Wednesday night, she failed to show, said Halsey.
When an investigator went by her King Street home,
he had found she moved, said Halsey.
Hunter is described as 5-feet-9, 175 pounds with brown eyes and shoulder-length dyed dark brown hair.
Douglas County Secret Witness program is offering a reward of $250 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Hunter in this case.
