Landowners and land managers interested in learning more about how to control and identify noxious weeds found throughout the state of Nevada are welcome to attend a two-day conference March 9-10 held by The Nevada Weed Management Association at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks.
The Nevada Weed Management Association seeks to educate the public, private landowners, and professional land managers on how to control invasive weed species, to improve Nevada's agriculture, grazing/browsing land, property values, and recreational opportunities.
The NWMA's conference will provide a full day of training in early detection of noxious weeds, rapid response, restoration, pesticide application/certification, and training in applicator calibration.
The second day of the conference will offer separate presentations for landowners and land managers, which will include mapping standards, restoration, pesticides, weed identification, control sources for weed management, and resources for funding weed control activities.
Everyone is welcome and greatly encouraged to take part in obtaining education on how to control invasive species that have endangered wildlife and livestock by competing with native species and harming private and public land.
