1957: Hop Adams and his brother Howard open the Carson Nugget.

1990: The original Hop and Mae Adams Trust is formed. With the death of Hop Adams, that became the Mae B. Adams Trust.

2007: Neighbors brought in to consult on the operation of the Nugget by Mae Adams.

2008: The Hop and Mae Adams Foundation established to benefit the community and youth of Carson City.

Oct. 23, 2009: Mae Adams, 97, of Boise, Idaho, dies Oct. 23 at her home of natural causes.

Nov. 5, 2009: Carson City officials give the Office of Business Development the nod to participate with the Carson Nugget in developing a detailed proposal for nearly nine acres of downtown property as a civic and business city center.

Dec. 10, 2009: Market, economic impact and financial analyses prepared by Meridian Business Advisors for Carson City is released. The reports show that Carson City's economy is heavily reliant on government jobs and manufacturing, retail and service industries. The Nugget project "will address and mitigate some of the troublesome economic issues," the report states.

Dec. 31, 2009: Deal is signed wherein Alan Adams, son of Howard Adams, agrees to sell his 50 percent stake in the Nugget property to the Mae B. Adams Trust.

Feb. 18, 2009: The Nevada Gaming Commission approves the restructuring of the trusts and licensing for Steve Neighbors to run the hotel/casino as well as the trust.
