The Nevada State Museum will mint a special commemorative 1-ounce .999 fine silver medallion of the Nevada State Capitol building Friday.

With Nevada facing one of the most difficult economic crisis in its history, the commemorative honors the dedication and commitment to solve the problem by our elected officials.

Coin Press No. 1 will be in operation from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. operated by Head Coiner Ken Hopple. Fifty silver medallions will be minted, each numbered and dated to commemorate one of Nevada's most significant special sessions in history.

The cost of each coin is $50. All proceeds go to support the Nevada State Museum.
