W. W. Garrison will appear at the Opera House tomorrow in his effort to expose the spiritualistic mediums play on the credulity of the public. He claims to be able to duplicate all the tricks of of leading mediums. He exposes materialization, blood-letting, slate-writing, cabinet severances, table tipping, spirit raps, etc.

100 YEARS AGO

The County Commissioners of Lyon County will hold a special meeting Saturday to hear a petition of Yerington folks and others on the county seat fight. It is expected there will be a warm time at the meeting.

70 YEARS AGO

The boxing program at the State Prison was the best ever held. Reno guests stated that if a promoter were to stage fights as seen in the prison yesterday would make a million dollars. The entire program was the work of prison inmates except for a talk by Warden William L. Lewis and refereeing by Sergeant Cunningham. The musical prelude was to the tune: "Under the Double Eagle," by the Prison Band.

50 YEARS AGO

Savini Construction of Carson City has won the contract to build Wittenburg Hall in Reno with a bid of $258,159.

20 YEARS AGO

Dayton's school population has grown some 30 percent in the past 18 months. The enrollment spurt has come at the elementary school levels.

10 YEARS AGO

The Carson City Bulldogs wrestling club got a bit of help during its annual tournament when the Carson City Kiwanis Club decided to help feed 200 wrestlers for the weekend.
