A tsunami warning momentarily called off Nevada's scheduled game at Hawaii with the Rainbow Warriors. But after the warning subsided, the game was put back on only to see the Wolf Pack fall 74-63 to a hapless Hawaii team.
Hawaii, losers of nine straight games, took control of the game early on with a 46.4 percent field goal percentage in the first half. The Warriors held a 35-32 lead going into the half.
Their shooting only got hotter in the second half.
Hawaii shot 63.2 percent and went 4-for-5 from beyond the arc to take a 17-point lead with 10 minutes, 47 seconds remaining in the game.
The Wolf Pack was outrebounded 34-23 and limited to just four second-chance points.
Brandon Fields led Nevada with 20 points, while Luke Babbitt picked up 18.
Nevada had a porous shooting night from beyond the arc, going 9-for-24.
Hawaii, which improved to 3-11 in Western Athletic Conference play and 10-18 overall, let the Pack back in the game as it got within three at 62-59 with about three minutes remaining.
The Pack was unable to capitalize on the momentum and fell to 9-5 in the WAC and 17-11. It was also its ninth road loss of the year.
