New school board officers to be selected

New officers will be selected at the Carson City School Board's first meeting of the year Tuesday.

Trustees will also be chosen to serve on various committees and associations, including the Nevada Association of School Boards, Parks & Recreation Committee, Community Council on Youth, Legislative Liaison, Board Policy Review Committee, Debt Management Commission, School Naming Committee and the joint Advisory Committee.

Also on Tuesday's agenda, the board members will outline goals to serve as benchmarks for Superintendent Richard Stokes in the upcoming year.

The meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.
