The Douglas County Senior Center will conduct the 11th annual Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 in the Shannon Ballroom at the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 US Highway 395, Minden. Admission is free and this event is open to the public.
The fair is designed to provide seniors an expanded awareness of health care providers and services in our community and to create an opportunity for individuals to address concerns.
Many local organizations will be on hand to answer questions and share information.
There will be informational booths for vision, hearing, hospice, Alzheimer's support, residential care, area hospitals, fitness, home care, investment professionals, TRIAD and many more.
Laboratory tests will be available in conjunction with Carson Valley Medical Center. Available tests will be:
• Wellness panel (Includes comprehensive panel and lipid panel, which requires a 12-hour fast)
• Complete blood count
• Prostate evaluation (PSA)
• Thyroid evaluation (TSH.)
No appointment or physicians orders are necessary. Each test will be offered for a small fee that will be payable at the time. Cash or check only please.
Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the day.
