Carson City attorney new vice president of Nevada state bar

The State Bar of Nevada elected its 2010-2011 officers during the Board of Governors meeting in Monterey, Calif.

The State Bar is pleased to announce the following new officers:

Cam Ferenbach, president, Lionel Sawyer & Collins, Las Vegas; Constance L. Ackridge, president-elect, Jones Vargas, Las Vegas; Francis C. Flaherty, vice president, Dyer Lawrence Law Firm, Carson City; Kathleen J. England, immediate past president, England Law Office, Las Vegas.


Doppelgangers takes third place

Doppelgangers Brewery won third place in the Dark Ale category for its Stout at the 15th Annual Great Eldorado BBQ, Brews & Blues Festival in Reno on June 26.

Doppelgangers was the only local brewery to win an award at the official festival judging last weekend. The Brewery won a gold medal for its V&T Honey Ale at the 2010 Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition earlier this month.

Established in 2007, Doppelgangers Brewery is Carson City's only brewery. Doppelgangers Taproom offers casual dining and all of Brew Master Joe Renden's other hand-crafted beers.

Tours of the brewery are offered throughout the week. Doppelgangers is located at 302 N. Carson Street, Carson City and at 2241 Meridian Blvd Suite A, Minden.

Carson City native gets EDAWN position

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada has named Paul Kinne as business development manager for retention and expansion.

Kinne, a Carson City native will manage local company relationships to promote expansion and job growth as well as seek new opportunities with existing businesses in the Greater Reno-Tahoe region. Additionally, he will assist in the retention of companies that may be courted by other states and communities to consider leaving the area.

Kinne graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1995 with a bachelor of arts in speech communications and a minor in business administration.


CAMPN meeting on Wednesday

The Carson Area Marketing & PR Network will meets at 5:30 p.m. at the Marilyn Lewis State Farm office, 321 W. Winnie Lane, on Wednesday.

The meeting is free and new members are welcome.

CAMPN is an association of professional marketers, marketing communicators, and public relations executives who gather monthly to network and share marketing and public relations resources, ideas and tips.
