Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Austin Matthews, 29, a foreman from Carson City, was arrested at 12:23 a.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Gordon Street on suspicion of felony battery with substantial bodily harm. Matthews allegedly punched his brother-in-law in the face, splitting his lip and fracturing bones, according to the arrest report. Bail was set at $15,000. The 28-year-old unemployed brother-in-law was arrested on suspicion of probation violation for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol. Bail was set at $3,000.

• Brenda Hyatt, 58, unemployed of Reno, was arrested at 7:27 a.m. Tuesday in the 3670 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of felony violation of an extended order of protection. Bail was set at $2,500.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Report of an employee stealing $500 from a South Carson Street business.

• Residential burglary report on Fieldcrest Drive at 12:09 a.m.

• Report of a 6-year-old child walking along North Ormsby Boulevard alone at 1:40 p.m. He was taken home.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Tuesday:

• Misdemeanor arrest on Jill Court in Fernley at 9:41 a.m.

• Report of a man stealing energy drinks from a store in Fernley at 9:30 a.m.

• A minor accident in the Dayton Post Office parking lot at 1:14 p.m.

• Residential burglary report on Pepper Lane in Fernley at 12:15 p.m.

• Commercial burglary report at a wrecking yard on Speedway Road in Fernley at 1:44 p.m.

• A vehicle hit the Post Office building in Fernley at 4:51 p.m. No damage or injuries reported.

• Misdemeanor arrest on Interstate 80 in Fernley at 6:57 p.m.

• Misdemeanor arrest on Prairie Lane in Fernley at 9:37 p.m.
