Capt. John Toll of Gold Hill and Katie Ward of Portland, Ore., were married Saturday, June 26 in North Carolina. The groom is stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C.
The bride is finishing her studies at the University of North Carolina. The groom is making the transition from the 82nd Airborne to Civil Affairs.
A reception will be held at the Jones Mansion in Gold Hill during John's next leave. In addition to being a ranger-trained paratrooper who served in Baghdad, the groom is a drummer boy in the Silver City Guard.
