Most of us would rather do anything than have to talk about what to do when we or someone we love dies. But, there are "Five Wishes" that make end-of-life planning much easier and logical.
Long-time hospice nurse and writer, Paula Schneider, RN, MPH, is a new member of the monthly caregivers support group at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. She is an end of life consultant, who gently and wisely helps all who are interested in reviewing those most important aspects of the question, "what do I do when the end comes for my parents or myself?"
Schneider will walk participants through those confusing things like Advanced Directives or Living Wills and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care during the monthly meeting of the caregivers support group at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church Rectory, 312 N. Division St., Carson City
All are welcome to come and hear Schneider's practical Five Wishes presentation. A materials fee of $5 will be collected for the planning guide that everyone can use. Space is limited as a small group is best for these sessions, so please call Dr. Deb Cash at 887-8846 to hold reserve a place.
