Don't waste taxpayer money on predator control

I just don't get it. With all of Nevada's economic woes, why on earth do we have to pay U.S. Department of Agriculture Wildlife Service employees $432,000 to kill animals for satisfying an unproven, controversial theory? That money would be put to much better use donating it to animal shelters that survive only on donations.

If the special interest groups want more lions and coyotes slaughtered, issue a few more tags and let Nevada's hunters do it with their own time and money. When I said a few more tags that's exactly what I mean.

This administration's arrogance is no joke

Ever told a joke to a group of people where everyone laughed except that one guy that blurts out, "I don't get it?" Then you have to spend the next several minutes explaining the joke and he still doesn't get it. Then everyone wants to slap him.

Here I go again, explaining the message to the one guy in the room who didn't get it. That happened to be my dog George, with the "hope and change" slogan written across his rump. The funny thing was that it wasn't meant as a joke at all.

It is no joke to freedom-loving people that their government no longer hears their voice, but chooses to mock them instead, referring to their right to peaceably assemble and petition their government as an act of racism. Yeah, I see the logic here, too.

It is no joke that any administration would hijack such beautiful words as "hope and change" to force any kind of amoral agenda on its citizenship. If this is the hope and change you want, try this on for size:

Had Nancy Pelosi's original healthcare bill passed, (H.R. 3962, Sections 7203- 7201) jail time for not buying yourself health insurance would have ranged from 1 to 5 years in prison and fines ranged from $25,000 to $250,000. The bill that finally passed into law, however, only allows the IRS to hold your tax refund until you pay up.

Get it now, Mr. Art Critic?

Census Bureau, quit wasting taxpayer money

I would like to give a wooden nickel to the U.S. Census Bureau, which is continually wasting our money. They are so unorganized that they waste time and money daily. They hire anyone, whether or not they are qualified. They don't proof the items they send out, causing mass confusion. They train people for four days at $14 an hour and 50 cents a mile. They give them 20-40 hours of work, and then train more to replace these people. Why not train a few good people and give them the two months of work you promised them?
