Lyla Fern Johnson, 84, was born Aug. 22, 1925 in Ord, Neb., to Ernest and Dolly Paddock. She passed away June 2, 2010 in Carson City, where she has resided since 1963. Lyla was a bank teller in Carson City for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, bowled on various leagues, sang in the Sweet Adelines, and loved gardening. She devoted her life to her family.
Lyla is survived by her sons, Leslie Johnson of Salem, Ore., and Steven Johnson of Carson City; daughter Debbie Harmon of Wellington, Nev.; sister, Grace Harris of Carson City; two grandchildren, Joshua and James; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Lyla's life will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City. Burial will be in Lone Mountain Cemetery.
