Dobson's Dream, The City Revives (continued from Wednesday): Then came a series of most appalling incidents. There seemed to be a strike in the 2,500 level of Sierra Nevada and the skeleton of John Mackey came rushing up the street with a sample of ore. Everybody was resurrected immediately, the broker's offices were thrown open to give their orders, paying in fat money and dealing in thousands of shares. (continued Friday).

100 YEARS AGO

Found: A bunch of keys. The owner can have same by identifying and paying for this advertisement. There is only one delinquent on the Ormsby County tax rolls this year, which shows a great improvement over previous years.

70 YEARS AGO

Dr. Fred M. Anderson's automobile which was stolen in Carson the night of May 30th, was sold in Pomona, California on June 1st. The person who claimed to have purchased the auto wrote to Carson for the "green slip."

50 YEARS AGO

Att. Gen. Roger Foley said today it would be several weeks before results of a probe into questionable baby adoption practices in western Nevada will be completed. The study was ordered after reports that many out-of-state parents were taking advantage of Nevada's adoption laws.

20 YEARS AGO

Finalists for the Carson Chamber Teenager of the Year Award are: Thomas James Clark, Anne-Marie Bellard and Timothy Tetz.

• Trent Dolan is the son of Bill Dolan, who wrote this column for the Nevada Appeal from 1947 until his death in 2006.
