RENO (AP) - The city of Reno is cracking down on loud car stereos.

Drivers whose sound systems can be heard as far as 25 feet away will be subject to the equivalent of a $130 fine under a new ordinance the city council approved earlier this week.

Reno police say they don't intend to go out in search of those who crank up their stereos, but now they will have a tool to deal with the worst

offenders.
