In 2007, there were 9,022 incidences of domestic violence reported in Nevada. My question is, how many went unreported?
In 60 percent of those reports, the victims were female, and the saddest statistic is 5,294 children witnessed the incidents. I am not promoting an "event," I am asking for your support, assistance and community involvement by supporting a program that really makes a difference to women and children.
By purchasing a ticket to the Taste of Downtown you directly help women and children to get out of the cycle of domestic violence. Yes, I can tell you that this event is amazing.
The food is always fabulous, the music entertaining, the shops warm and welcoming and our town, the people who live here, remarkable. Your continued support and incredible generosity helps save lives, and hopefully breaks the chain of domestic abuse. Thank you!
I am passionate about saving children and making changes for the better, and Advocates does both. I will see you at the Casino Fandango booth. Please stop by and say hello.
And a special thank you to all the restaurant owners, food establishments, shops and volunteers that each year astound me by donating so much! Of course you can't forget the wonderful staff at Advocates for all the work that goes on behind this fundraiser. Thank you.

CARSON CITY LITTLE LEAGUE PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The annual Father's Day Pancake Breakfast will be at the Exhibit Hall at Fuji Park. This is a fun time for the entire family. The playground and park to enjoy after a great breakfast and no dishes to wash up, sounds good right?
Carson City Little League Pancake Breakfast is a tradition like apple pie and Toyotas. Also traditional is the chance to win a 2002 Toyota Truck thanks to Mr. Campagni, owner of Carson City Toyota/Scion.
The tickets purchased to the Pancake Breakfast automatically gets you in for the drawing. You can purchase tickets from any little league player. Give a shout out to Connor Leahy or Noah Tamasco, who recently had a two-run homer in the playoffs. Slugger Zachary Harris had a few too.
Great job to all the boys this season!
