Elks offer cookout at railroad museum

The Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers with all the trimmings including sodas and chips from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in front of the Wabuska Depot during the Father's Day Steamup at the Nevada State Railroad Museum.

Cost is $5 with proceeds to benefit the Elk's charities, including Veteran's, drug awareness and scholarship programs.

Summer swimming lessons offered

The Carson Aquatic Facility is currently holding registration for summer swim lessons. Daytime and evening classes are available for children of all ages and abilities.

Vacation Bible School offers activities for kids

Break away to the great frontier at CenterPoint Christian Fellowship Vacation Bible School at 100 Breakwater Drive in Dayton.

The classes will be from 6-8:30 p.m. July 19-22 for ages preschool through sixth grade.

Planned activities include drama, live music, small lessons, crafts, outside recreation and snacks. There is no cost.
