William Mattas, 90, of Carson City, died June 13, 2010. He was born Jan. 27, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is survived by wife Verona; son David of Carson City; daughter Susan Farhood of Woodland, Calif.; and four grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City, is in charge of arrangements.
