LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a 26-year-old former University of Nevada, Las Vegas, football player is dead and a one-match mixed martial artist is being held on a murder charge after a fatal weekend fight in a room at a Las Vegas Strip resort.
The Clark County coroner on Monday identified the dead man as DeMario Reynolds Sr. of Henderson.
Las Vegas police say 25-year-old Jason Simon Sindelar was arrested after the 4 a.m. Saturday scuffle at the pyramid-shaped Luxor hotel-casino. He was being held at the Clark County jail pending a court appearance.
Sindelar is identified as a mixed martial arts fighter who lost his only professional bout in September 2008.
Reynolds was a linebacker who last played for UNLV as a junior in 2005.
