More than 200 classic and even not-so-classic cars crowded the grass at Fuji Park Saturday.

The occasion was the 26th annual Run What Cha Brung event sponsored by Karson Kruzers. For those who keep track, that makes the event a year older than Hot August Nights.

Kruzers President Lorretta Marcin said one of the unique things about the event is that it's open to every vehicle no matter what make, model or year. Even enthusiasts who can't bring a car this year are welcome, she said.

"Some people are working on their cars and don't have them actually running," she said.

One of the folks in that category, this year, is Marcin herself.

While many of the cars shown are quality pieces of art, a lot of the others are works in progress or pretty much stock vehicle's like Dave Bess' 1962 Chevy Impala.

"We drive this all the time," he said.

Marcin said the 204 vehicles registered is a drop from about 260 that turned out a year ago. But a lot of them are familiar faces, she said.

"Some people have been coming for many many years," she said. "Now they're bringing their grandkids."
