Tutors help immigrants attain citizenship

With regard to Guy Farmer's commentary about the recent citizenship ceremony, we totally agree that this is an emotional ceremony to attend. It was the same with me at a recent ceremony in Reno where I was the keynote speaker to 41 immigrants from 11 different countries being sworn in as U.S. citizens.

I wish to report that adults who are eager to become citizens can pass the tests with minimum English skills. Fifty-nine of our students with limited English became U.S. citizens at no cost with the help of their tutors.

Anyone interested can call 888-2021. There is no charge to students for ESL, GED citizenship study.

Support tough anti-immigration legislation

I am so angry. Today the labor secretary said, "Illegals have the right to a fair wage." This is the perfect example of the Obama administration's disregard for the law. The president should be impeached. Obama has not upheld his oath of office, he is not defending the Constitution nor is he protecting us from enemies foreign and domestic. I do not advocate violence, but if something is not done soon, I fear we will see another civil war. Please take the time to at least read the Preamble of our great document.

We are now and have, for a long time, been being invaded. The people of Arizona have started to make a stand. Those people and organizations that advocate an open border do so only for their self-interest, and in my opinion, are committing treason.

The time has come for Nevadans to stand and be counted in this fight. We are losing our nation as we sit idle and do nothing. Support the legislation here in Nevada to enforce the law against illegal immigration. Don't shop there. Be verbal about your feelings. Tell businesses why you will no longer shop there or use their services. Nevada Battle Born will soon be tested. Stand up for our country and Constitution.
