The public is invited to attend an information and input open from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Carson City Community Center's front lobby regarding the proposed Carson City Center Project, formerly known as the Nugget Economic Development Project.

P3 Development's architectural team will present a concept master plan showing placement of proposed public and commercial facilities on approximately eight downtown acres, primarily located on existing surface parking lots behind the Carson Nugget.

The project architects will give a short presentation on the design concepts at 6:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room, and representatives of P3 Development and the architects will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the lobby to display project concepts and answer questions.

The presentation at 6:30 p.m. will also be televised on local public access television, Charter Cable Channel 226.

The conceptual plans will show the intended locations and sizes of the various concept elements which include a library, public plaza, public transit hub, commercial office buildings, retail space and residential units, as well as the proposed project's relationship to the surrounding neighborhoods. It will also reflect proposed traffic flow, parking to serve the project, entry points into the site and the streets that would remain open or be closed.

P3 Development is under contract with the Carson City Redevelopment Authority and the Mae B. Adams Trust to perform a feasibility analysis for the proposed project to help determine what parts of the project, if any, are economically possible.

The purpose of this open house is to present project design concepts in order to obtain public review comment to help complete the financial feasibility analysis. The feasibility analysis is scheduled to be completed in early September, after which the Carson City Board of Supervisors will consider the developer's conclusions and recommendations.

Community feedback will be gathered through written comment cards at the open house. Comments also can be sent to P3 Development Inc., 1860 Howe Avenue, Suite 440, Sacramento, CA 95825, Attn: Carson City Center Project, or e-mailed to the project manager at mcourtney@pthreedevelopment.com.
