Carson Tigershark swimmers Abby Pittman and Charlee Bradley were high-point winners in their respective age groups at last weekend's meet in Bishop.

Pittman, 14, won the 1,000 free (11:39.45), the 200 free (2:13.50) and the 20 breastroke (2:51.28. She was second in the 500 free (5:51.96) and 200 butterfly (2:52.64), and third in the 200 IM (2:29.80), 100 breast (1:17.24), 100 butterfly (1:16.09) and 50 free (29.54).

Bradley, 13, won the 400 IM (6:03.57), the 200 IM (2:45.44) and the 200 free (2:26.64). She was second in the 500 free (6:39.32), 100 free (1:05.95), 200 back (2:41.47), 100 breast (1:26.72), 100 back (1:13.63) and 50 free (29.90).

Jakob Clark, 9, and Kaly Branco. 10, were second-place high point in their respective age groups.

Clark was first in all seven events he entered. He won the 100 IM (1:30.77), 100 free (1:24.09), 100 back (1:34.52), 50 butterfly (45.36), 50 back (40.69), 100 breast (1:56.08) and the 50 free (36.61).

Branco won the 500 free (6:28.03), 100 back (1:15.82) and 50 back (35.36). She was second in the 100 free (1:07.64) and the 50 free (30.79). She finished third in the 100 IM, 50 fly and 100 breast.

Bret Kolb, Kelsey Bradley and Danielle Stanka were third place winners in their respective age groups.

CHS summer hoop

camp scheduled

The annual Senators Summer Slam basketball camp is scheduled for July 19-20 in the main gymnasium at Carson High School.

The camp promotes the positive in teaching girls and boys (between the ages of 8 and 15) basic fundamentals with special attention paid to ballhandling, defense and shooting. There also will be games played daily.

Each camper receives a basketball and T-shirt. The cost is $95 if registered by July 13 and $120 thereafter. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Dayton starts junior

golf program

A free weekly junior golf camp starts Thursday and will run throughout the summer at Dayton Valley Golf & Country Club.

The clinic will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. every Thursday. Free hot dogs and refreshments will be given out to all participants at the first clinic.

Bulldog wrestlers

travel to Idaho

The Carson Bulldogs took a handful of wrestlers to a meet in Idaho over the weekend.

Nico Garcia took fifth in greco-roman and second in folkstyle. Cody Cunningham was fourth in greco-roman and Willy McDonald was sixth in folkstyle.

Cole McCarthy, Austin Brown, Jordan Luhrs, Brandon Basa, Kyle Sharp, Nicholas Lani and Brady O'Keefe also participated but did not finish in the top six.

Blue Jays win

High Sierra finale

Carson scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat the Sacramento Vipers 10-9 in the ninth-place game of the High Sierra Classic at Bishop Manogue on Sunday morning.

Shea Bondi led the Blue Jays, going 5-for-5 with a double and four singles. Adam Whitt and Chance Quilling each collected three hits and two RBIs. Brock Pradere finished with two hits, including a solo homer.

Colby Blueberg was named to the all-tournament team.

Singer shoots 78

to win net tourney

Jonathan Singer shot a 78 from the Thunder tees to win the Thunder Canyon men's club Tip Your Hat to Age individual net tournament.

Bret Andreas shot 71 to win the Nevada tees flight, while Randy Plymell carded a 61 from the Lightning tees. Keith Gottschalk (62) and Stan Bailey (65) had low net scores from the Sierra and Sunrise tees.

Bighorns holding

baseball clinic

The Nevada Bighorns, a college summer baseball squad, are sponsoring a free baseball clinic July 6 at Western Nevada College.

The first clinic, which is open to players from 7 to 12 years of age, runs from 9 to 11 a.m. The second clinic goes from noon to 2 p.m. and is open to players between the ages of 13 to 17.

The clinic will cover hitting, pitching, catching, infield and outfield, and will be taught by Bighorns players and the coaching staff. The first 50 players in each age group will receive a free T-shirt.

After the clinic players are invited to stick around or come back to attend the Bighorns-Marysville Gold Sox game which starts at 5 p.m.

Crowder aces

No. 2 at Silver Oak

Dayton resident Tim Crowder aced the 118-yard second hole at Silver Oak Golf Club on June 28.

Crowder used a 56-degree wedge on the shot which was witnessed by Craig Luce.

Paulsen, Lewis

tie at C. Valley

G.J. Paulsen and Daryle Lewis each shot a net 66 to tie for first place in the first flight in the Carson Valley men's club individual stroke play event.

John Carey won the second flight low net with a 67.

Robert McLean was third with a 67 in the first flight, while John Miller and Gary Schreiber tied for second place in the second flight with a 68.

Marty Lane (13th) and Ewald Burmeister (18) were closest to the hole.

Boykin wins

Kim Boykin carded a gross 63 to win Eagle Valley's Strike 3 tournament on June 23 on the East course.

Annette Ramirez won low gross in the second flight with a 73, while Joyce Boecher shot an 80 to win low gross honors in the third flight.

Bev Barker (55), Dee Dee Murray (50) and Marti Veverka (47) were the low net winners in their respective flights.

round at S. Oak

Craig Luce shot a net 65 to win the second round of the President's Cup event at Silver Oak Golf Club.

Mick Ryan was second with a 67, while Frank Maricich and William Kapczynski tied for third with 69s. Bill Prowse, Jim Silsby and Kevin Silsby tied for fifth with 70s. Marc Garcia and Rocky Koch tied for eighth with 71s.

District 1 tourney

comes to Carson

Mark July 7 on your calendar. That's when the postseason begins for Little League all-star teams in Northern Nevada.

A total of 33 teams in three different age groups (9-10, 10-11 and 11-12) converge on Governors Field for the start of the District 1 tourney. The winners advance to the state tournament, which will also be held in Carson in the third week of July.

Admission is free to all Little League games.
