Helicopter lands in neighborhood to help man with self-inflicted gunshot

Care Flight landed in a residential neighborhood in Dayton after a man reportedly shot himself.

The wound was later determined to be in the torso, just below the 55-year-old man's left shoulder on the front of his chest, according to a witness at the scene.

The helicopter landed in the 2000 block of Lonnie Lane.

Lyon County Sheriff's Capt. Rob Hall said the wound is self-inflicted and does not appear to be life threatening.
