Toyota dealership opening Monday
Dick Campagni's new Carson City Toyota dealership, 2590 S. Carson St., will open its doors Monday. A grand opening is planned in May.
The 50,000 square foot facility broke ground in May 2009 and was built by Miles Construction.
The project received $4.1 million in city redevelopment funds to help build it.
It will replace Campagni's Toyota dealership located on S. Carson Street and Koontz Lane.
Lobbyist opens new public affairs firm
Nevada political and business consultant Chris Ferrari announced last week the launch of Ferrari Public Affairs.
Ferrari has worked in lobbying and consulting since the mid 1990s, serving in Gov. Kenny Guinn's administration, a lobbyist and as a public relations consultant for Nevada's largest advertising and public relations firm, R&R Partners.
Paradise Cove opening soon
Owner Doug Cramer said Paradise Cove inside the Carson Mall is expected to open by the end of the month. Cramer, who co-owns the restaurant as well as Mom and Pop's Diner with his wife, Jamesa, have been planning their new restaurant since September 2008.
Chinese eatery to open on Hwy 395
Long-time Carson City business owners James and Jie Gotchy are planning on opening Lily's China Bistro, a Chinese restaurant, by the end of the month.
The restaurant will occupy the building that used to house Long John Silvers, 1280 S. Carson St.
Bank opens Carson City branch
First Independent Bank of Nevada opened a new branch in Carson City on March 1 at 1818 East College Parkway, the seventh branch for the bank in the region.
Longtime Carson City banker Greg Nixon joined the branch as its vice president. He previously served as senior vice president with First Financial Bank, which formally was located in the same location.
First Independent Bank of Nevada is owned by Western Alliance Bancorporation.
Coin show coming to Carson Nugget
The Downtown Coin Club will host a coin show at the Carson Nugget on May 15-16, featuring 24 coin dealers from the region and elsewhere. Admission is $2.

Disaster SBA business loans available
Small, non-farm businesses in Carson City and 11 other Nevada counties will be able to apply for low-interest disaster loans from the Small Business Administration as a result of ongoing drought conditions in the West.

Carson City business honored
Resource Concepts, Inc., of Carson City, is a 2009 winner of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency's "Best in the Basin" award for a commercial rebuild project.
The engineering, natural resource and environmental consulting firm provided civil design and permitting services for South Lake's Ski Run Center, a 1.7-acre site owned by Gersick Enterprises.
