Kids on stage pretend to be kids staging a movie in the enchanting story of "Really Rosie."

The BAC Stage Kids production of the musical by Maurice Sendak ("Where the Wild Things Are") and Carole King (Grammy winning singer-songwriter) plays for two weekends starting 7 p.m. Friday at the Brewery Arts Center.

In "Really Rosie," Rosie and her neighborhood friends get together to make a movie. The plot is about her little sister, nicknamed "Chicken Soup," who disappears and they can't find her. It sets the scene for many funny situations.

It includes the iconic song recognized by most young children (and their parents), "Chicken Soup with Rice."

"It's all about using your imagination. There are lots of really fun, moving scenes," said Andie Anderson, creative director at Brewery Arts Center. "The dialogue is really funny, there's tons of music in it and the kids are adorable."

The young cast consists of 30 children 6 to 10 years old. Starring as Rosie in the double-cast production is Caroline McGrath and Drue Chapman.

Directing the BAC Stage Kids for the first time is Michon Chandler, a

regular with the Brewery's Performing Arts Collabor-ative.
