Full moon snow tours planned Saturday

• Royal Gorge will host a Full Moon Ski and Snowshoe beginning at 7 p.m., Saturday. Cost is $25 for adults, $20 for children under 12, seniors and season pass holders. Soup and chili will be available for purchase an hour before. Call 426-3871 to reserve your spot.

• The Incline Village Parks and Recreation Department's moonlight snowshoe hike up to Diamond Peak's Snowflake Lodge is 5:30-9 p.m. Saturday.

At the lodge, Brimm's Catering will be open with light fare available for purchase. Smores and hot cocoa will be provided, and Julia Berberan will offer guitar and vocals.

All ages from 9 to 99 are welcome to join the trek, and the Village Ski Loft will offer a discounted snowshoe package.

Rim Trail schedules 10th annual Thru Hike

The Tahoe Rim Trail Association's 10th annual Thru Hike, a 15-day hike on the 165-mile Tahoe Rim Trail, begins on July 24, or July 25.

There will be two groups of 15 people and each group will have two or three experienced guides. "Trail Angels" appear every one to three days with food, fuel and water and a few surprises along the way.

The cost for the hike is $1,750 and is the major fundraiser for TRTA for its education, outreach and other programs offered throughout the year.

Dummy Downhill at Diamond Peak

Incline's spring fling kicks off Saturday with the Dummy Downhill at Diamond Peak, in its 10th installment this year.

Get your spot early to view all of the fun.

There is no charge to enter and just about everything is in the mix, from couches filled with dummies to lawn mowers pushed by dummies. As the dummies head down the mountain to catch some big air on the jump, the crowd cheers, and the more body parts that fly, the more the crowd erupts. Heads really do roll in this event.

Gunbarrel mogul marathon April 3 

Glen Plake will host Heavenly's sixth-annual Gunbarrel 25 mogul marathon on North America's toughest black-diamond bump run - Gunbarrel Saturday, April 3. The event incorporates Plake's passion for freestyle skiing with Heavenly's legendary spring bumps. The event is open to all advanced skiers and riders and has multiple categories
