130 YEARS AGO

Road Found: Pony King, one of the "knights of the whip," called last night to inform us that the Glenbrook Road had been found. He had returned yesterday after taking the mail to the summit by snowshoe. Near that point he had met two men that had come from the lake with mail. They then took the mail to Glenbrook.

100 YEARS AGO

This afternoon the board of Prison Commissioners approved plans for a new prison. The plans, under review by Architect DeLongchant, are to include steel cells.

70 YEARS AGO

Sun spots again interrupted short wave transmissions to the Orient and East Coast. The Globe Wireless reported its service out entirely to Honolulu and Manila.

50 YEARS AGO

Another popular sports event will be held this weekend by promoter Ted Walker. In the wrestling event, world lightweight champion Jack (Moe) Smith of Carson City will face the junior heavyweight champion of Europe, Lorenzo Perenti of Italy.

20 YEARS AGO

Mr. and Mrs. Art Bernard celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary.

10 YEARS AGO

The Carson City Library will hold a "Connect With Kids" day to kick off National Library Week.
