CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - The number of active registered voters in Nevada fell by more than 14,000 in April from March because of routine updating of voter information.

The secretary of state's office says as of April 30 there were 1,060,522 active voters in the state.

Democrats outpace Republicans statewide by 62,400.

County clerks and registrars update voter registration rolls between elections. Officials use change of address records from the U.S. Postal Service to contact voters who have moved. If voters don't provide new addresses, they are considered "inactive."

Such voters can still show up at the polls, but won't receive sample ballots or other information by mail.
