Arlington House Improve-ments: The Arlington House is to be fitted up in the most fashionable style. A portico will be built in front - 145 feet long, and which the members of the next Legislature can sit and smoke their cigars.

And likewise the best of goods.

No sand in the sugar.

The editor of the Appeal returned from Candelaria and was covered with chloride dust. Last seen heading for Shaw's hot springs.

70 YEARS AGO

At the regular meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association, the following officers were elected: President - Mrs. Clarence McGinness. Vice President - Mrs. M. D. Anderson. Secretary - Mrs. Donald Olmsted. Treasurer - Mrs. A. S. Kean. Member-at-large - Mrs. William Bliss. The principal accomplishment of the year was securing the kindergarten for Carson schools.

50 YEARS AGO

The old V&T mine was on fire according to Les Groth. Groth warned parents about letting their children near the mine, or any of the many mines in the vicinity.

20 YEARS AGO
