Two-way tie at Byron Nelson

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Cameron Beckman finished his delayed first round for a 69 then tied the course record at TPC Four Seasons with a 9-under 61 on Friday and was tied for the 36-hole lead at the Byron Nelson Championship with PGA Tour rookie Blake Adams.

Beckman and Adams, who shot a second-round 64, were at 10-under 130, a stroke in front of first-round co-leader Jason Day, who had a second-round 65.

Jordan Speith, a 16-year-old high school junior, shot a second-round 69 and was at 3-under 137. He became the sixth-youngest player to make the cut at a PGA event.

At the other end of the spectrum is 47-year-old Steve Elkington. He got into the field as an alternate on Sunday, when someone else dropped out, then shot a 66 to become part of a seven-way tie for the lead. He followed with another 66, putting him two shots off the lead.

European Tour

WENTWORTH, England (AP) - Luke Donald shot a second straight 3-under 68 to take a one-shot lead after the second round of the BMW PGA Championship.

Donald had four birdies and a bogey for a 6-under total of 136 at Wentworth's West Course.

Ross Fisher and Danny Willett were a shot back in second, along with James Kingston.

Padraig Harrington was among a quartet of players a further shot back after carding a 67 in a bogey-free round.

Defending champion Paul Casey was tied with Harrington at 4 under as he tries to become only the third player after Colin Montgomerie and Nick Faldo to retain his title since the tournament started in 1955.

LPGA Tour

GLADSTONE, N.J. (AP) - Michelle Wie easily advanced to the round of 16 in the Sybase Match Play Championship, beating Hee Young Park 5 and 4 at Hamilton Farm.

The eighth-seeded Wie will face 57th-seeded Karine Icher on Saturday morning, with the winner advancing to the afternoon quarterfinals.

Icher beat Eun-Hee Ji 2 and 1.

Ai Miyazato, a three-time winner in the first six events of the season, dropped a 1-up decision to M.J. Hur.

Top-seeded Jiyai Shin and fourth-seeded Yani Tseng, the Kraft Nabisco Championship winner in April, also advanced. Shin beat Hee-Won Han 3 and 1, and Tseng topped Candie Kung 2 and 1. No. 5 Cristie Kerr lost 4 and 2 to Sun Young Yoo.

Morgan Pressel rallied to beat Sophie Gustafson in 19 holes, winning the last three holes with birdies.

Amy Yang routed 49-year-old Juli Inkster 7 and 6, and Amanda Blumenherst also made quick work of a Hall of Famer, beating seventh-seeded Karrie Webb 7 and 6.
