Richard Martinez passed away May 17, 2010. He was born June 19, 1957, in Ely. He graduated from White Pine High School in 1975 and moved to the Reno, Carson City area in 1977 where he lived for the rest of his life.
Richard served his country for 20 years in the Nevada National Guard, retiring in September 2009, and the state of Nevada for 23 years with the Nevada Department of Corrections, retiring in January 2010. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. Richard was preceded in death by daughter Erin. He is survived by wife Debbie of Carson City; mother Carol and brother Kelvin of Ely; sister Monica of Gardnerville; daughters Kara (John) and Sara (Matt) of Reno, Cali of Carson City and son Kyle of Reno; one grandchild (two more on the way) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Calvary Chapel Carson City Christian Fellowship.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard's memory to the charity of your choice.
