The Bureau of Land Management Carson City District Office-Sierra Front Field Office, in cooperation with NV Energy, is putting the development of the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Blackhawk to Heybourne 120 kV Transmission Line on hold.
NV Energy managers have re-evaluated the near-term need for the transmission line and have determined that the in-service date for the line may not be until 2020. This is a delay of several years from the initial in-service date for the line. The change is a result of newer electricity load projections that do not show the same demand as previous forecasts.
