SPARKS (AP) - Police in Nevada say a 13-year-old girl was seriously hurt when she was struck in a crosswalk by a sport utility vehicle driven by another 13-year-old girl.
Sparks police Sgt. Pat Dyer says the pedestrian was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno in serious but stable condition with a head injury after she was hit just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Dyer says the 1998 Jeep Cherokee had been provided to an 18-year-old, who let the 13-year-old girl drive before the crash at Los Altos Parkway and Grandridge Drive.
Dyer says the 18-year-old and two other juveniles were in the vehicle.
No names were made public, and no arrests were made.
Dyer said the 18-year-old and the driver could face criminal charges.
