LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada's top election official says a power outage at a Las Vegas-area polling place could delay the reporting of statewide voting results.
Secretary of State Ross Miller released a statement Tuesday saying there could be a delay in reporting early returns in all statewide Nevada elections.
Miller says there's no estimate how long any delay might be.
He says no results of any statewide race can be reported in any county until all polls across the state are closed.
Clark County Registrar of Voters spokesman Dan Kulin says voting machines have battery power, and no votes were lost due to the outage.
He says it happened about 5:45 p.m. and lasted about 45 minutes at Schofield Middle School in southeast Las Vegas.
