Obituary: William "Bill" Carrol Warren

William "Bill" Carrol Warren passed away in Fallon on Oct. 30, 2010. Bill was born Jan. 2,1926, in Rock River, Wyo., to Ira and Julia Warren.

He entered the U.S. Marine Corps at the start of WWII, December of 1941, and got out in January of 1946.

Bill wore many hats. He was a cowboy, working on various ranches, later to own his own. He had ranches in Lovelock; Loyalton, Calif., and Grandview, Idaho. He had been a manager and later, a casino-bar owner, "Headquarters Bar" in Fallon. Bill enjoyed the life of ranching and cowboy and gambling business. He had a lot of good friends and neighbors, dogs and horses. H e enjoyed hunting and fishing but flying was his passion, having held a pilot's license since the early '50s.

Bill is survived by his wife Gwen Warren, children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10 at Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley.
