LAS VEGAS - Republican Rep. Dean Heller coasted to a third term victory, brushing aside a relatively unknown challenger in a rural Nevada district that has never elected a Democrat.

Heller won Tuesday against Democrat Nancy Price in the Republican-heavy district covering most of the state except Las Vegas.

Heller is a vocal opponent of federal health care reform law. He was courted by Republicans to challenge Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this year, but decided to stick to his House seat.

Heller was elected in 2006 after a brutal primary battle against Republican Sharron Angle and then-Nevada first lady Dawn Gibbons.

Price is a U.S. Air Force veteran who won the Democratic primary by 349 votes over Reno lawyer Ken McKenna.
