Fierro named to Lyon County Commission

(AP) - Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons has named Raymond Fierro to an open seat on the Lyon County Commission.

Fierro replaces Don Tibbals, who resigned from the District 3 seat in September. His term expires in 2012.

Fierro is a non-commissioned officer in the Nevada Air National Guard who has served on the Lyon County Planning Commission. He is a former member of the Dayton Regional Advisory Board.

The governor announced his appointment Thursday.
