Sparks woman arrested in mother's death

SPARKS (AP) - A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of her 70-year-old mother in Sparks.

A Reno newspaper reports Catherine Eisley was booked into the Washoe County jail after the body of her mother, Cherry Clasen, was found by police late Wednesday night in a Nelson Way home.

Police say Clasen had been beaten and suffered cuts to her head and upper body, and the only person inside the home was the 48-year-old Eisley.

Police say they interviewed Eisley and she admitted responsibility for her mother's death.
