Carson graduate appointed to writing assessment committee

Bob Crongeyer, son of David and Pat Crongeyer of Carson City and a 1980 Carson High School graduate, was recently appointed to the steering committee that creates the fourth-grade writing assessment used to gauge academic achievement of students across the country and around the world: the National Assessment of Educational Progress or NAEP. The assessment is also used internationally.

Crongeyer has devoted much of his life to education in various guises. He currently teaches English and social studies to gifted and talented third- through sixth-grade students at Taylor Street Elementary School in Sacramento.

He works with teachers throughout the region by co-directing the Area 3 Writing Project at the University of California, Davis.
