Obituary: Richard Howard Harmer

Richard Howard Harmer, loving husband and father, passed away on Nov. 4, 2010. Richard was born on Feb. 3, 1930 in Elko to Francis and Verna (Irene) Harmer. Richard served in the United States Navy from June 1948 to July 1952 when he was honorably discharged. Richard married Louise Yvonne Dittebrandt on May 31, 1955 and was married to Louise for 55 years.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife Louise on June 29, 2010. Richard was also preceded in death by his brothers, William, Charles and Donald.

Richard is survived by sons Donald (Joylyn) Harmer, Dale (Kathy) Harmer and Dan Harmer; and daughter Debbie (Logan) Hand along with six grandchildren.

Fitzhenry's Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

At Richard's request, there will be no service. The family is requesting donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Northern Nevada Chapter, 750 S. Wells Ave. Reno, NV 89502.
