The Indian Trouble in Lander: General Miles says that the trouble is due to a religious craze existing among the Indian tribes. "I have been in Utah, Montana and Cheyenne Reservation. The Indian tribes are reported to believe that the Messiah is coming, who is to restore them to their former glory, bring back the buffalo and drive away the whites from the land."

U.S. unemployment hits new high with the number of unemployed at three million. The figures push the jobless rate from 5.7 to 6.4 percent in October. This was the highest rate since December 1958 when the nation was recovering from an economic recession.

The Mustang brothel was sold for $1.49 million to a Reno man who refused to state his name or plans for Mustang or the 330 acres of land around it.
